You’ve Got a Friend in Me
On Sunday 6th August, our homes celebrated National Friendship Day to honour the importance of building and appreciating meaningful friendships. Many marked the day by exchanging gifts and written letters, creating friendship bracelets, and handing out cards in their local communities.
Greensand House Care Home in Salfords came together with Edenbridge Manor Care Home in Edenbridge and Rosebery Manor Care Home in Epsom to host an afternoon tea where staff and residents indulged in delicious cake, met like-minded individuals, and made new friends. Speaking of the day, resident Doreen said, “It was a fantastic afternoon. Everyone was so friendly, and it was nice to see so many new people. I hope we can do it again. Chef did a great job, as always, with sandwiches, scones, and cake.”
Residents at Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby commemorated the day by writing pen-pal letters to their friends at Derby Heights Care Home in Derby and are eagerly waiting for a reply!
