Sizzling Spanish Salsa with Sherrie!
Staff, residents and friends at Glenmoor House Care Home were honoured to welcome Avery Ambassador Sherrie Hewson to a Spanish themed Open Day on Friday 19th October!
In preparation for the event, staff and residents decorated our home with fresh flowers, colourful balloons and multi-coloured bunting. When Sherrie arrived, Unit Manager Julie Alcock presented her with a lovely bouquet of flowers to brighten up her hotel room (as she is currently on tour with the stage version of the hit TV show, Benidorm). In the days leading up to our fabulous Spanish fiesta, our residents had been busy helping our chefs to prepare Spanish style canapés and cocktails, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Sherrie spent time with our residents, discussing her career as an actress, as well as resident’s own lives and experiences; she also took a trip around our home to visit some of the residents in their rooms. Many residents and visitors also received signed pictures from Sherrie, and we even have a framed one in our reception!
It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all, with the residents appreciating Sherrie’s visit and agreeing that she brought a ray of sunshine into the home.
