National Care Home Open Day 2019
On June 28th, care homes across the country opened their doors to welcome local communities to their National Care Home Open Day. This year’s theme was ‘Celebrating Arts in Care’, and our care home staff supported this by working with the residents before the event to create artwork that could be put on display during the open day for everyone to see.
We are proud to announce that on the day, the Avery Group have raised a remarkable £3,271.88 for a variety of charities including Age UK, the Alzheimer’s Society, BRACE and other charities local to our care homes. We took some fabulous photos on the day too!
Newcross Care Home, Wolverhampton, and Hawthorns Care Home, Aldridge, also invited Avery Ambassador Sherrie Hewson to their Open Days. Sherrie sang with residents at Newcross and visited the ‘Rovers Return’ themed afternoon at the Hawthorns Aldridge.
Thank you to everyone who helped us to make the day special, we really appreciate all of your help! We are now looking forward to our next fundraising event, as part of our Big Event Days for 2019, on Tuesday 30th July 2019, where we will be supporting The Care Workers Charity.
