Mayor of Runnymede Delights Care Home Residents

Last week, Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home buzzed excitedly as it hosted a charming afternoon tea event, graced by Cllr Elaine Gill, the esteemed Mayor of Runnymede.
This visit was a unique and significant opportunity for the Mayor of Runnymede, who was first elected in 2020 but could not connect with residents due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home staff and residents.” said Cllr Elaine Gill.

The afternoon tea event was a delightful experience for all. The beautifully decorated bistro, adorned with fresh flowers, set the perfect ambience for the guests to enjoy a spread of sandwiches, scones, and cakes. The variety of pastries and teas were savoured as guests shared stories with new and familiar faces.

Cllr Elaine Gill continued, “The event was not only a feast for the senses but also a celebration of the strong ties between the care home and the local community.” “Events like these remind us about the importance of community, the joy of joining together, and the incredible work that Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home carry out every day. The team are wonderful.” Cllr Elaine Gill shared.

Natalie Birch, General Manager at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home, stated, “We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Elaine Gill, to our home to join our residents for a wonderful afternoon tea.”

One of the residents, Anne, spent some time chatting with the Mayor of Runnymede and expressed her joy, stating, “It was so lovely to meet the Mayor in our home, and we really appreciated the time she spent getting to know us.”
