Love is in the Air
Across our homes, residents celebrated Valentine’s Day on 14th February. Those at Birchmere House Care Home in Knowle began the day with a party, followed by a quiz, with residents Heather, Mary, and Maureen crowned winners, whom all received prizes. Love was in the air (and on the menu) at Greensand House Care Home in Redhill. Residents tucked into a delicious spread prepared by the culinary team, with dishes including ‘You are my Honey’ – honey-roasted sweet potatoes and carrot soup served with a homemade bread roll. Staff and residents at Squires Mews Care Home in Northampton spread the love as they gifted local Blue Light Professionals with sweet treats, and over at St Giles Care Home in Birmingham, residents unleashed their creative sides, writing their own poems and decorating gift bags.
For some of our couples, residents Ted and Doll enjoyed a romantic dinner together in the Private Dining Room at Edenbridge Manor Care Home in Edenbridge. June and Barrie, who have been married for 66 years, were happily reunited at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester. June had a respite stay when Barrie was suddenly taken unwell, and the team were delighted to welcome Barrie to stay too.
