LGBTQ+ Coffee Mornings Are Brewing
At Avery Healthcare, we are proud to partner with Age UK Wandsworth to support their LGBTQ+ Coffee Mornings, a vital initiative for the local LGBTQ+ community held at Wandsworth Common Care Home in Wandsworth.
These monthly events provide a welcoming space for older LGBTQ+ individuals to connect, share experiences, and discuss topics that matter most to them.
During their most recent coffee morning, they were honoured to welcome James Benson, CEO of Central London Community NHS Trust. James led an insightful discussion about the support networks available to older LGBTQ+ individuals entering the healthcare system, a key concern for many within the community. Prior to that, they were delighted to host Paul Roseby OBE, CEO of the National Youth Theatre, who engaged attendees with personal stories of growing up without LGBTQ+ role models. Paul spoke passionately about his ongoing work to promote awareness, acceptance, and diversity through his leadership role. His reflections struck a chord with attendees, highlighting the importance of community and understanding.
