Lady Jane Court Host Work Tour for Local Students
Staff and residents at Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester regularly welcome visitors from their local community, including local schools and nurseries, to the home for open days and themed events. On 7th June, they greeted students from Ash Field Academy with special educational needs or disability for a ‘work tour’ as part of a project called ‘We Discover’.
Working in partnership with the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership Careers Hub, the We Discover project aims to deliver tailored careers interventions to students, supporting them to make successful post-16 transitions.
During the work tour, students chatted with residents, played games, and had the opportunity to speak to staff members, asking them questions about Lady Jane Court and the experience of working there. To finish the visit in style, students were treated to a three-course lunch in the dining room.
Education Development Officer, Fiona Spence-Arnold, stated, “Thank you to staff and residents at Lady Jane Court for making us all feel so welcome. Our students were thrilled to visit the home and enjoyed meeting the residents. We hope to see you again soon.”
