It’s All In The Contract!
At any one time, Avery has a full programme of new developments in build as well as refurbishment works at existing homes. Derek Goodman manages and expertly controls all the contracts and contractors. A highly experienced Construction Manager, Derek does a great deal of work behind the scenes to ensure the quality of the finished Avery product that our residents call home and our staff work in every day.
Avery’s estates suppliers are all under contract, and Derek ensures that all of our legal responsibilities are met. Not only does this cover the new builds that Avery opens each year, but also the range of trades, decorators and equipment suppliers involved in the continual programme of refresh and refurbishment of the existing estate.
Due to Avery’s progressive self-development programme, in early 2020, Derek will move to focus purely on the new builds. This year sees the completion and opening of new homes in Droitwich in the West Midlands and Edenbridge in Kent, plus a three-building care and independent living community in Kettering, Northamptonshire. There are more homes in plan to open in 2021 and beyond, meaning that Derek will be busy setting up and managing all the contracts that go into controlling the quality of development that is the hallmark of any new Avery home.
