Going the Extra Mile at Acacia Lodge
Arriving earlier than usual this year, the Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) Going the Extra Mile week was celebrated in true Avery fashion at Acacia Lodge Care Home in Manchester. Taking place between 18th – 22nd July, the festivities challenge people to complete as many miles as possible to raise funds and awareness that will support the financial, professional and mental well-being of social care workers by making grants, signposting to resources, and providing access to services.
Residents and staff members at Acacia Lodge had a busy week, beginning with a sponsored walk, followed by a spread of delicious fruit platters and drinks. Joined by visiting families and friends, residents also made their own ice cream. The week ended in style with a relaxing pamper session.
Home Manager, Joanna Roberts, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to our residents, staff members, family, and friends for joining us. We are pleased to share that we raised £50 for the Care Workers’ Charity.”
