Eight-Year-Old Singer Performs for Care Home Residents After Appearing on Britain’s Got Talent
Lucciano Mortimore performed at Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol yesterday, entertaining a room full of residents.
At just eight years old, the young talent from Bristol captured the audiences’ hearts last year on Britain’s Got Talent when the judges gave him four yeses.
Lucciano’s musical journey has deep roots in his family. His mother, Marisa, was a member of the band, Girlband, on The X Factor in 2008, alongside JLS and Alexandra Burke.
The young superstar also draws inspiration from his grandfather, Frankie Johns, a seasoned performer with over 30 years of experience singing in care homes.
Recognising Lucciano’s talent at a young age, Frankie began taking him along to perform when he was just two years old. This early exposure to live music has significantly shaped Lucciano into the confident performer he is today.
Lucciano now performs solo in Bristol care homes and hospices.
His recent heart-warming show at Avon Valley Care Home had everyone clapping, singing, and dancing along.
“I just like to sing and make people happy,” Lucciano said. “Performing on Monday at Avon Valley Care Home was brilliant. The residents were charming, loved to dance, and were the nicest to sing to.”
Lucciano’s mother expressed immense pride in her son’s accomplishments. “This is the proudest moment ever,” Marisa said. “Seeing Lucciano perform in care homes is amazing. He brings so much joy to the residents.”
Pam Bridgeman, a resident at the luxury care home, said, “The performance was fantastic. He is a born superstar. He can definitely come back again!”
Administrator at the Avery Healthcare-owned home, Sarah Donaldson, booked the performance. She said, “When I booked Lucciano to visit Avon Valley Care Home, I knew he was good, but I didn’t expect him to be that good!”
“His confidence, along with stage presence, was just incredible! The residents loved it and have already asked when we could have him back!”
Frankie Johns, the young singer’s grandfather, said, “It is always a pleasure to visit Avon Valley Care Home. The staff is always so efficient, the residents are happy, and they always appreciate the entertainment.”
“My family and I are so proud of Lucciano following in my footsteps and making a difference.”
