Edenbridge Manor Welcomes Two New Fluffy Friends

In November, staff at Edenbridge Manor Care Home in Kent welcomed two new fluffy residents, a pair of dwarf rabbits named Snowy and Buttons. Well-being and Activities Co-ordinator at Edenbridge, and animal lover, Chloe, introduced the two new additions to the home after discovering that the residents missed the companionship of a furry friend.

Pet therapy is an important part of life in care homes, and research suggests that the presence of an animal can help combat loneliness and increase activity levels. Resident June decided on the name Snowy for the white rabbit, with resident Jennifer naming the other Buttons, as she said, “She is just like a chocolate button!” Customer Services Manager, Tina, added, “They have brought so much happiness to our residents and are now part of our community.” Snowy and Buttons reside in a comfortable hutch in the garden but regularly come inside the home for well-needed cuddles and interaction with the residents.
