Edenbridge Manor Care Home nearing completion
Edenbridge Manor Care Home, being built by main contract Jenner Construction on Mont St Aignan Way, Edenbridge, is due to open its doors this summer. As the build nears completion, we celebrated the ‘topping out’ alongside Avery Ambassador, TV and stage actress Sherrie Hewson, and Councillor Alan Layland, Edenbridge Town Council Chairman. The topping-out ceremony is originally a Scandinavian tradition, where site workers would place a branch of a tree atop a new building, to celebrate the completion of the main structure.
Along with providing a fabulous new care service for the town, Edenbridge Manor will also contribute towards the local economy by creating a range of 80 new full-time and part-time jobs; it is already contributing now, by using local trades, professionals and materials suppliers wherever possible to help deliver this £8.5m build.
Senior representatives from both Jenner and Avery supported the ceremony. New Manager for the home, Juliet Gallop, was at the ceremony. She said: “Opening a new home is a wonderful opportunity and one that I am incredibly excited about, as we look forward to delivering outstanding quality care for the Edenbridge community. It was great to meet Councillor Alan Layland on such a sunny day, which we hope was a positive sign, and we all managed to get to the top floor to complete the topping-out ceremony.”
