Another clean sweep for Hawthorns Aldridge!
It is with great pleasure that the staff and residents at Hawthorns Care Home, Aldridge are pleased to announce that the care home has just been rated as Good In All Categories after an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
During the inspection, the CQC spoke to a variety of staff, residents and relatives and received positive feedback about the home. Staff told the CQC that they knew how to keep their residents safe: “We have a duty of care, for example, money, we have to safeguard them, it’s just common sense you have to make sure they are safe no matter what.”
It was noted in the report that our residents felt the home was warm and welcoming. One resident said, “I am very happy here, everything is spotless.” Another resident told the CQC, “It’s clean and well maintained here.”
The CQC inspectors observed positive interactions between staff and residents. One resident said, “The staff are lovely, approachable, kind and patient.” It was also noted that ‘residents were treated with dignity and respect, for example, staff would knock on residents’ doors before entering their bedrooms’.
Home Manager Kate Gilligan has worked with the staff to maintain the standards. She said, “We are thrilled to have retained our Good In All Categories rating from the CQC. This is a wonderful achievement for the home and the team as a whole. It is a testament to fantastic teamwork across all departments, our residents and their relatives. Every single person involved at Hawthorns can take credit for this great report; without their hard work, dedication and passion, it would not have been possible to achieve this. We will continue to work together to maintain this standard and take the home forward.”
