Community Fundraising Efforts Bring Hope and Support
Several care homes have recently made a significant impact through fundraising, offering vital support to local charities.
Barnet Grange Care Home in Barnet raised £200 for the North London Hospice during their summer fair. The team expressed their gratitude, saying, “We are always happy to give something back and look forward to welcoming North London Hospice to our home soon. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.”
Southampton Manor Care Home in Southampton raised £679 for the Romsey Cancer Support Centre at their summer fete. The funds will help the charity provide essential support to individuals and families affected by cancer.
Knowle Gate Care Home in Solihull hosted a lively summer fete, raising £750 for Age UK Solihull, Dementia UK, and the Alzheimer’s Society. The event featured games, music, and food, drawing over 100 attendees from the local community.
Highcliffe Care Home in Sunderland donated handmade baby bonnets and blankets to Sunderland Royal Hospital’s Neonatal Unit. The hospital expressed loving thanks, noting that the items will bring comfort to new-borns in need.
Rowan Court Care Home in Newcastle-under-Lyme celebrates Senior Carer Kerry Houghton, who completed the 26.2-mile Trek26 Peak District in 10 hours, surpassing her £500 fundraising goal for the Alzheimer’s Society. Kerry’s dedication and support from colleagues and the community have been overwhelming. She expressed her gratitude, saying,
“Alzheimer’s Society is close to many of our hearts, making this challenge incredibly rewarding.”
Claire Hilton, Business Administration Manager at Virginia Water Care Home in Virginia Water, will zip-line at 100mph on Thursday 12th September to raise £1,000 for PSPA in honour of her mother, Eve, who has PSP. Virginia Water Care Home supports her effort and encourages donations. Ewa Jaworska, Home Manager, said, “Claire’s dedication is inspiring. We urge everyone to support her in finding a cure for PSP and CBD by donating here.”
