Champions Raise the Bar for Charity
Over the past couple of weeks, Middleton Lodge in Derby, Elton House in Watford, and Acer Court in Nottingham were abuzz with remarkable displays of dedication and resilience, highlighting the strong community spirit at Avery Healthcare.
At Middleton Lodge, Senior Carer Hannah McHale geared up for a daring 15,000-ft skydive at Langar Airfield in support of Alzheimer’s Society, inspired by the impact of dementia on residents and their families.
Meanwhile, Elton House staff completed a 13-mile sponsored walk in London on Saturday 18th May, raising an incredible £3,637. Both events aimed to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
At Acer Court, Home Manager Gemma Wallbanks took part in the Chester Half Marathon in memory of her late mother to raise funds for Myeloma UK, a resounding statement in the fight against cancer. Gemma completed her marathon in an incredible two hours and 36 minutes and doubled her original fundraising goal.
The homes had rallied behind their respective champions, showcasing the unwavering support and strong community spirit prevalent at Avery Healthcare. As these courageous individuals embarked on their challenges, they symbolised the strength that emerges from loss and the collective power of community support in driving meaningful change.
