Celebrating VE Day Across Our Communities

Our communities celebrated the 79th anniversary of VE Day with great enthusiasm and spirit. Across several of our care homes, residents enjoyed activities filled with joy and nostalgia.

Adelaide in Bexleyheath featured a wartime singer creating a patriotic atmosphere. Avalon Court in Coventry had a themed sing-and-dance with Mike Smith, complemented by a spectacular cake from Michelle in the Kitchen Team. In Kettering, Avery Park’s festivities included live entertainment from Dean, traditional VE Day foods, and a glass of Pimm’s and lemonade. In Marlborough, Merlin Court’s residents enjoyed afternoon tea in the sunshine, with Vera Lynn’s classic songs. Priory Court in Stamford had Roger’s organ music, flag-waving, and jam tarts. Squires Mews in Northampton hosted a vibrant garden party with entertainment by ‘Nice N Easy’. Brentwood Arches in Essex celebrated with Dennis singing old classics, ending with “Land of Hope and Glory.” Residents from Alder House, in Nottingham, celebrated with their neighbours from Acer Court.
