Celebrating the Grand Opening of Saxon Manor
On Wednesday 31st January, staff and residents at Saxon Manor Care Home in Godmanchester were delighted to celebrate the official grand opening of the home to the local community and further afield.
Friends, loved ones and community members joined residents for an afternoon at the ‘Saxon Royale’, as the home was transformed into a casino wonderland, creating an exclusive setting for this special occasion. Residents embraced the theme, dressing in elegant black-tie attire as they immersed themselves in a variety of thrilling casino games. From the spin of the roulette wheel to the strategic moves in blackjack, it was an unforgettable experience for all. The crowd enjoyed performances from live singers Lesley Ann and Katie Rose and magician Thomas Dixon, who added an extra touch of enchantment to the celebration. As a token of gratitude for their generous fundraising efforts, attendees had the opportunity to win enticing raffle prizes.
In attendance on the day was Avery Healthcare’s Chief Executive Officer, Lorna Rose, Mayor of Godmanchester, Alan Hooker, and Sophie Etheridge from Adaptive Athletes, who had the privilege of cutting the ribbon and declaring the home officially open. Sophie stated, “I had the honour of opening Godmanchester’s newest care home, which provided a platform to connect with our friendly neighbours and speak about our community.”
Home Manager Kirsty Price describes her vision for Saxon Manor to become an outstanding care home, “I have a passion for person-centred care, and I appreciate how daunting moving into a care home can be. I am dedicated to ensuring our team delivers the outstanding care our residents deserve, supporting them to lead fulfilling lives.”
