Care Home Achieves Fundraising Success

Farnborough and District Stroke and Aphasia Group (FDSAG) recently visited Camberley Woods Care Home to accept a generous cheque for £283 raised during the care home’s annual Summer Fete.

FDSAG is a community-based organisation that provides support and resources for individuals who have experienced a stroke or who have aphasia, as well as their families and caregivers.

Janet Thompson, Secretary for the FSDAG, stated “As a member of the FDSAG, I am thrilled to express our thankfulness for this generous donation from all the staff at Camberley Woods Care Home.”

“I have been leading our group for many years, and our mission is to support patients and carers through their stroke or aphasia journey.”

“Thanks to Camberley Woods Care Home’s kind contribution, we have planned a special Afternoon Tea for our group in September, which everyone is eagerly looking forward to.”

These funds will be instrumental in providing essential services for individuals affected by stroke and aphasia, aiding their recovery and improving their quality of life.

The Summer Fete was a resounding success, attracting over 100 attendees, including residents, staff, and local community members, who together raised an impressive £283.

The event featured an energetic performance by Jean Claude, a raffle with numerous winners, and delicious treats from the Culinary Team. Guests also enjoyed a lively tombola, unique stalls, and the chance to pet friendly animals from Millers Ark Farm.

Lia Thompson, Well-being Co-ordinator at Camberley Woods Care Home, said, “Our summer BBQ was a great success, and it was amazing to see all our staff, our residents and their families, and visitors from the community gather together to raise such an incredible amount of money towards the FDSAG.”

“We were very grateful to see so many members of the FDSAG attend our event and look forward to having more visits from them.”
