Bubbles & Balloons at Bourn View for Playlist for Life Accreditation
Bourn View Care Home in Birmingham received its Playlist for Life accreditation this month. The work carried out by staff over several months has helped residents and families to communicate by using personalised music which has special meaning to them.
The ceremony took place on 24th November and was hosted by Heather Perkins, Avery’s Dementia Support Advisor. Paula, a representative from Playlist for Life, praised Bourn View staff members for their inspiringly ‘honest’ representation of the work they’ve been carrying out and was pleased to see their progress. She commented: “Despite the challenges of Covid, it’s great to see the music make such a positive impact on Joan.”
Well-being and Activities co-ordinator, Rosie, commented that since Joan has started to listen to her playlist, “The change in her mood has been amazing, and there is a clear, positive change.”
