A Little Goes a Long Way
Over the past few weeks, our care homes have been filled with warmth and generosity, as many have come together to support their local communities and charities.
At Hempstalls Hall Care Home in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Home Manager Lisa Bailey hosted a memorable cheese and wine evening, featuring special guest Gaynor Morton from APPROACH Dementia Support. Gaynor delivered an insightful talk on dementia awareness. During the event, Lisa proudly presented Gaynor with a cheque for £184.42, raised through the spirited efforts of their Summer Fayre.
As the colder months approach, Bagshot Gardens Care Home in Surrey and Derby Heights Care Home in Derby went above and beyond to support families facing financial hardship. Both homes donated large boxes of essential food and toiletries to their local food banks, helping to provide for those in need. Team members, residents, and relatives all contributed what they could, resulting in a generous collection of vital donations.
Sue Ruff, Client Liaison Manager at Bagshot Gardens Care Home, said, “Visiting the food bank and seeing the difference our contributions can make was a truly rewarding experience. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that our donations are helping families in our community during such a difficult time.”
As the holiday season draws near, our care homes continue to look for ways to spread kindness and support their local communities, reaffirming their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those around them.
