Another Good CQC rating for Scholars Mews Care Home
Following a recent unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our beautiful care home has been rated as ‘Good in All Categories’ once again!
The CQC have given us a Good rating in their five categories of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Achieving this result for the second time sustains our consistently high rating and demonstrates we are a reliable and high-quality care home in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Our report summarised that ‘Staff were thoughtful, kind and polite and had a positive attitude to their work and spoke with enthusiasm about caring for people.’ Our residents clearly agreed, saying “Staff are wonderful, very kind” and, “Staff are very kind and polite”. A relative also told CQC that “The standard of care here is fantastic” and “The staff are genuinely kind and respectful, I’ve never heard an unkind word”.
Staff told CQC that, “It’s a lovely home, with lovely residents”. One staff member told the CQC that all staff shared the same commitment to providing kind and compassionate care. They explained, “The staff, they all care. They all feel they belong because we are a tight group. They all treat the people who live here as their family, their parents and grandparents. They take their time with people.”
Our culinary skills were also praised, with one resident commenting, “Food is terrific. I enjoy the food the chef produces.” And a relative said, “The food is fantastic”.
We are all incredibly proud, but none more so that our Home Manager Sharon Wassing who said “Wow, this is a fantastic result! Thank you to all the team for their hard work. Achieving this for a second successive time is definitely worth celebrating as it confirms the consistency of our high standards and quality of care. At Scholars Mews we are a care home with a difference.”
