Glenmoor House Earns ‘Good’ CQC Rating Across All Areas

A care home in Corby has achieved a ‘good’ rating following a visit from Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors.

Glenmoor House, a 57-bed care home, part of the Avery Healthcare Group, have a ‘Good’ reason to celebrate after the CQC recognised their unwavering dedication in improving the home’s standards.

The home achieved the rating across all five of the CQC’s assessment criteria; safe, effective, responsive, caring and well-led.

Glenmoor House, which provides residential, dementia, nursing, and respite care received inspections and audits between September and October this year.

This rating reflects the improvements in the quality of care, staff training, and overall resident satisfaction at the home.

The CQC report states that a relative of a resident told inspectors, “I am more than happy as they more than meet [Name’s] needs. I never have to worry because of the attention they pay to residents.”

The CQC report highlighted that residents’ health needs were consistently addressed, with prompt and efficient referrals to healthcare professionals, including GPs and dietitians.

One person shared, “The doctor comes here to see me, and I get my medication when I need it. I have been offered physiotherapy, and I go out to the dentist and the optician.”

Another relative said “I go at different times of the day in the week and weekends and the care is always the same. There are adequate staff, they could do with more and there is a group of regular staff I see.”

Beth Whorton, General Manager at Glenmoor House Care Home, has been in the role since May 2024.

Beth expressed her delight at the outcome by stating, “I am really proud of my team and what we have achieved at Glenmoor House in a short time. I am passionate about providing person centred care for the residents and everyone has really worked together and embraced new changes to provide this and receive a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC. The residents are our priority, and we continue to strive to provide the best for them. I am proud to manage such a lovely home, and I am looking forward to what the future holds for Glenmoor House.”
