Carrstone House Officially Opens, Welcoming First Resident Today

Carrstone House Care Home, a newly built, state-of-the-art care home in Downham Market, officially opened its doors last week, and today it welcomed its first resident.

The 72-bed facility is the latest addition to Avery Healthcare’s portfolio, offering high-quality residential, respite, and dementia care services.

The home’s first resident, Barbara Clinton, moved in today, Tuesday 26th November, at the age of 84.

Barbara was the first person to enquire about Carrstone House Care Home and is proud to now call it home as its very first resident.

Barbara expressed her excitement about the move, saying, “It’s been such a smooth process moving in, and I can’t believe how lovely and spacious my new bedroom is. Thank you for my welcome gift, Cyclamen is one of my favourite plants.”

Located in a prime position in Downham Market, Norfolk, Carrstone House boasts a range of premium amenities, including a hair salon, cinema, café, companion rooms, private dining options, and beautifully landscaped gardens. These facilities have been designed to provide comfort and convenience for all residents, enhancing their daily lives.

Shane Collier, Home Manager at Carrstone House Care Home, shared his excitement about the opening.

He said, “It’s an honour to welcome our first residents today. We’ve worked hard to create a supportive environment where everyone can feel at ease and enjoy the care and services on offer. We’re looking forward to seeing our residents settle in, make new connections, and take full advantage of the excellent facilities we have here.”

More residents are due to move in over the coming weeks.
