Wear it Pink Day

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Wear It Pink Day is a beloved event in the UK, where people wear pink to show their support and raise funds for breast cancer research. Across several of our homes, Wear It Pink Day brought residents, staff, and families together, each hosting unique activities that made the day both meaningful and uplifting for everyone involved.

At Horse Fair Care Home in Birmingham, residents enjoyed delicious cakes baked by talented chefs.

At Cliveden Manor Care Home in Marlow, staff and residents dressed head-to-toe in pink, savoured cupcakes, were entertained by Jimmy Kent, and raised over £140.

Ashurst Mews Care Home in Northampton welcomed Breast Friends Northamptonshire for an inspiring talk, followed by a reggae performance by Reggae Ray and a prize reveal from various games.

At Avalon Court Care Home in Coventry, residents and staff enjoyed a cheerful photo session, a sing-along with Johnny T, and a raffle organised by the team.

Avon Valley Care Home in Bristol threw a lively, pink-themed party with a performance by Siobhan Olivia that had everyone singing and dancing.

Both Virginia Water Care Home in Surrey and Aran Court Care Home in Birmingham joined the effort, with residents and staff proudly wearing pink and setting up donation boxes to support the cause.

Across our homes, Wear It Pink Day was a wonderful opportunity to show support for those affected by breast cancer, bringing everyone together for a day filled with fun, warmth, and shared purpose.
