Essential Food Supplies Donated by Care Home as Winter Sets In

With the colder months approaching, Bagshot Gardens Care Home stepped up to support local families facing financial hardship.

The care home in Bagshot donated 30kg of essential food and toiletries to The Trussell Trust at the Bracknell Foodbank, located in Kerith Community Church.

This support will aid families in need as the cost-of-living crisis deepens with winter approaching.

The Bracknell Foodbank collaborates with charities and community organisations, having assisted over 7,000 people last year alone.

With demand remaining high this year, the food drive motivated residents and staff alike to donate non-perishable goods, such as canned and dried food, to help ease the burden on local families.

Team members were encouraged to look through their cupboards and donate what they could spare, resulting in a successful collection of essential items.

85-year-old Betty Rose, a resident at Bagshot Gardens Care Home, shared her thoughts, saying, “This cause really matters to myself and other residents. It feels good to know that our contributions will make a difference for families during the holiday season.”

Samantha Bell, Home Manager at the 94-bed care home, stated, “It was wonderful to give to those less fortunate, especially with winter fast approaching. We were proud to support our local community during this challenging time.”

Sue Ruff, Client Liaison Manager at the care home, added, “Visiting the food bank was an eye-opening experience. It was a privilege to support this worthy cause, especially as we approached Christmas. We are incredibly thankful for everyone’s contributions.”
