Scholars Mews Care Home Celebrates Improvement in CQC Report
Scholars Mews Care Home is celebrating a remarkable achievement after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), reflecting a significant leap forward.
The 63-bed care home in Stratford-upon-Avon achieved a ‘Good’ rating in all critical areas following a recent CQC inspection from October 2024 to August 2024.
This remarkable leap highlights the home’s exceptional progress in care quality, staff training, and resident satisfaction.
One of the key enhancements was in staffing levels, with the report praising that “staffing levels were now sufficient to ensure people received the care and support they needed in a timely manner.”
The CQC report also commended Scholars Mews Care Home for its excellent safety management, highlighting that “risks to people’s safety were now managed effectively, ensuring residents were protected from avoidable harm.”
In addition, the management of medicines was significantly improved, with the CQC noting that “medicines were now managed safely, ensuring people received their prescribed medicines as intended.”
Regional Director Lesley Mason expressed her delight at the CQC’s recognition, saying, “I’ve supported the home since the October inspection and became interim Home Manager in March.”
She added, “It’s been a privilege to work with such a dedicated team to address the areas identified. Everyone has committed fully to providing a ‘Good’ standard of person-centred care and enriching residents’ lives.”
Lesley concluded, “The ‘Good’ rating affirms the hard work put in over the past ten months at Scholars Mews Care Home, and this commitment will continue.”
