Waterhouse Manor Celebrates Grand Opening with Peterborough United Striker

Waterhouse Manor Care Home in Peterborough celebrated its grand opening on Thursday 12th September with some local football flair.

During the event, Peterborough United striker Ricky-Jade Jones unveiled the care home’s plaque, marking the official opening.

“I have had a look around the care home. I’ve seen the cinema rooms and the other facilities. It really is somewhere you would want to live. You can’t ask for much more.” said Jones, who praised the state-of-the-art amenities.

Waterhouse Manor Care Home recently partnered with Peterborough United FC for a 12-month sponsorship with the club.

The event featured lively performances from showgirls, a magician, a live performance from Fiona and Gabriella, and a photobooth, with canapés and a Hollywood buffet served throughout.

Located in Hampton Gardens, the care home is part of Avery Healthcare, offering high-quality residential, respite, and dementia care with a focus on residents’ comfort and well-being.

The Mayor of Peterborough, Marco Cereste, cut the ceremonial cake after his speech, remarking, “Waterhouse Manor Care Home is so impressive. It’s better than most hotels I’ve stayed in!”

Reverend Rachel from a local church, CSK Hampton Church, blessed the home, highlighting its connection to the local community.

Over 100 attendees also heard speeches from Jeremy Richardson, Chief Executive of Avery Healthcare, and Bobby Copping, Commercial Sales Manager at Peterborough United FC.

Natalie Maxwell, Home Manager at Waterhouse Manor Care Home, expressed her excitement: “We are thrilled to open our doors to this wonderful community. We aim to provide the best care in the most comfortable, luxurious surroundings, ensuring residents feel at home.”

A generous community member donated their Porsche 911 for the grand opening event, adding a touch of excitement to the day.

92-year-old Ena, the home’s first resident who also attended the event with her family, humorously remarked, “It was a very busy day, and very well put together. I really wanted to drive the Porsche!”

Waterhouse Manor Care Home boasts 80 bedrooms, a hair salon, a cinema, a café, outdoor terraces, private dining, and landscaped gardens designed to enhance the lives of its residents.
