Residents Have a Fin-tastic Day at Blue Reef Aquarium
Residents from Esher Manor Care Home recently went on a day trip to Southsea in Portsmouth, where they visited the Blue Reef Aquarium and enjoyed the fresh sea air.
The group, including residents, Mo, Linda, Denise, Jim, and Roger, had a wonderful time exploring the wonders of marine life and taking in the natural beauty of the seaside.
The aquarium’s exhibits allowed everyone to get up close to the incredible sea life, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation. Mo even expressed that he was particularly fascinated by the jellyfish.
After the aquarium, the group spent some time by the sea, soaking in the soothing sounds of the waves. Denise and Mo were especially happy to be near the ocean, expressing how they could have stayed all day just listening to the crashing waves and feeling the cool breeze. Meanwhile, Roger and Linda had fun skimming stones on the pebble beach, enjoying the simple pleasure of being outdoors.
Team members Angela Garwood (Activities Team Member) and Amira Satar (Care Assistant) accompanied the residents and got involved with the fun. The trip was filled with laughter, discovery, and a shared appreciation for nature, leaving everyone in high spirits. Upon their return, the residents shared their experiences with others at Esher Manor Care Home bringing the excitement of the day back home with them.
The outing was not only a refreshing change of scenery but also a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with each other and the natural world. It was a day full of new experiences, happy moments, and cherished memories.
