Hampstead Court Care Home Empowers Future Filmmaker With Community Fund Project Grant

A 17-year-old student has been awarded a significant grant from Hampstead Court Care Home, as part of a community project competition.
Bunny McHugh, a year 12 student at Harris Academy St. Johns Wood and former child actor in the John Lewis ‘Tiny Dancer’ advert, won £250 in a competition with a luxury care home. This grant is a crucial step in her filmmaking journey, enabling her to pursue her passion.

Having initially made a mark as a model and actor, Bunny has now shifted her focus to directing. This grant will allow her to further her career aspirations and expand her portfolio for future film school applications.

Bunny said, “I am incredibly thankful for Hampstead Court Care Home in picking me as a winner for this competition. I can’t thank them enough.”
“After considering various ideas, I realised that making a short documentary about Hampstead Court Care Home would be the perfect way to say thank you. It’s a chance to express my gratitude towards the care home, who are helping me to pursue my biggest interest and hopefully future career.”

Bunny’s project will involve an in-depth exploration of Hampstead Court Care Home. She plans to film various aspects of the home, interview staff members, and highlight its vital role in the community, providing a comprehensive view of the care home’s operations and impact.

Daniel Bridges, Home Manager at Hampstead Court Care Home, said, “We are excited to support Bunny with her project. It brings so much joy to the whole home to see the positive impact this will have on Bunny, helping her to follow her filming dreams.”

“Our Community Fund Project exemplifies our commitment to nurturing local talent and creating those crucial community connections.”
Bunny aims to commence filming during the summer holidays, dedicating time to planning and capturing the care home’s essence over several days.
