Lots of Laughter as Avalon Court Raise £230 for Macmillan

We at Avalon Court Care Home in Tile Hill in Coventry, opened our doors to the local community to raise funds at a Macmillan Coffee Morning this month and raised an impressive £228.92 in just two hours. The fantastic event was held in our all day café and spilled out into our lovely landscaped gardens where residents, families, staff and members of the public made the most of the sunny day.

Residents were delighted to get involved alongside the catering team in baking a delicious range of cup-cakes and treats for sale. Arden’s Fine Foods donated an impressive hamper for the raffle and a large iced Christmas cake that added to the monies raised. Happy residents from the third floor of our home were the lucky winners of the hamper in a ‘guess the number of decorations competition’.

Rick Bloomer, Avalon Court Home Manager, commented, “This was a lovely event, full of laughter and a great opportunity for our residents to mingle with the local community. It was also heart-warming to see people’s generosity in raising money for such a good cause and in recognition of all the hard work that the cake bakers had put in”.
