Amarna House Make a Flying Visit to The Yorkshire Air Museum

Last week the residents of Amarna House Care Home had the most brilliant day out. We took some of our forces veterans to the historical Yorkshire Air Museum;  we then went for a lovely lunch at The Millfield Beefeater.

The Museum is a living memorial to all allied air forces personnel, particularly those during the Second World War, and especially the tens of thousands of young people who gave their lives in that conflict. They aim to be relevant to present day generations by explaining, in a realistic way, what life was like on a typical wartime bomber station, as well as displaying the history of aviation. The museum is run purely on donations and a lot of the exhibits have been meticulously reconstructed by very talented volunteers.

We, at Amarna House, love to take excursions and exciting trips out, the residents had a fantastic day of reminiscing at the Air Museum and we are already planning our next trip!
