Friends at the Florist

Each week, some keen residents from Edenbridge Manor Care Home in Edenbridge, Kent, volunteer at their local florist, Lucie Mason Flowers. Many of the bouquets created become part of customer orders or decorate the reception area at Edenbridge Manor, and residents enjoy maintaining this link with their local community. Resident Audrey states: “I love our walks to the florist. The shop is wonderful, and I am made to feel so welcome.” Resident Janet describes how she enjoys chatting with the customers: “They are all lovely, and the florists are very talented.” Through regular volunteering, residents have built a friendship with Lucie, owner of the shop, who said: “We love having the residents come to visit. They tell us amazing stories, and our customers are always happy to see them too.”
