Reunited at Last …

Over recent months, we have seen many emotional reunions across our homes, with residents welcoming back their loved ones for safe in-person visits again. For Yvette at Pemberley House Care Home in Basingstoke, reuniting with her daughter Penny who migrated to Australia in 1985, was extra special.

After regularly keeping in contact with each other via Zoom, it was the 24-hour distance and Australian travel restrictions that had kept them apart for so long, and when Penny got the green light to come over, she jumped at the chance to be reunited with her mother. Yvette mentioned, “It was jolly nice to see her and to be able to give her great big hugs. I am so overjoyed and hope that she will come back again soon.”
