Droitwich Mews Marks One Year

On 10th November, Droitwich Mews Care Home celebrated its first anniversary since opening. To mark the joyous occasion, staff at the home hosted a glamorous black-tie awards ceremony for residents, with a special visit from The Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Councillor Bill, and his companion Mrs Dilys Mary.

Home Manager, Pam Casey, and Customer Services Manager, Louise Webb, warmly greeted The Mayor and provided a home tour after he met and networked with residents.

Before settling down for the awards ceremony, residents who were certainly dressed to impress waltzed down the red carpet towards the relaxing piano lounge to enjoy live music from pianist Mike Sullivan and a delicious selection of canapes prepared by the talented culinary team.

Each resident was presented with a different award based on their achievements within the home. Pam also presented awards to staff as a token of her appreciation for their work over the past year. She said, “It was wonderful for our residents to be part of the planning from the start through to the end of the celebrations.”

The evening was topped off with plenty of singing, dancing, and bubbly with the help of entertainer John, who dropped by to perform some well-known classics to the delight of the residents.

The celebrations were a huge success, with one resident commenting, “Today has been wonderful; I felt like I was out with my friends, having fun like we were young again.”

Well-being and Activities Co-ordinator, Emily Soper, who helped organise the festivities, added, “The whole event has been amazing; our residents and staff came together to make the day of celebrations one we won’t forget!”
