‘Good In All Categories’ for Hempstalls Hall!
It is with great pleasure that Hempstalls Hall Care Home in Newcastle-under-Lyme are delighted to reveal that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has just rated the home as Good In All Categories!
The CQC spent two days at Hempstalls Hall inspecting five key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well Led. Our CQC report provided detailed responses as to why we have been rated Good In All Categories, and there are even some amazing quotes from Staff, Residents and Relatives which helped to show the CQC how good our home is. Some of the quotes highlighted in the report are:
One resident said, “I feel very safe here, there is always someone there if you need them. I am very happy here; I have mates here”. The staff felt they received enough training, saying “I have had loads of training; the training is really good.”
Staff had their practice observed to ensure they were delivering effective care and support. Residents spoke to the CQC and said: “Yes, when [staff] are new they have to do training days”. The staff are keen to make relationships with residents, and are aware of different peoples routines and preferences: “I do know them well, people have their own routines, like [person] for example, they like to wear a headband when having a shower so their hair does not get wet, and [person] who like you to put your feet up to theirs so they can use them to push themselves into the chair.”
Our Home Manager, Tracey Evans, is delighted with the result: “I am so happy with our report from CQC. We have an exceptional staff team that work very hard for the needs of all residents. We have a beautiful home to live in and also to work in, and the team here have worked well to get this great CQC report.”
