The gardens at Alder House Care Home in Nottingham are something special. We are very proud of our extensive and secluded gardens and love to be outside enjoying our hard work. Here is a list of what we do, not the gardener:

• Sweep the paths
• Fill up the bird feeders
• Water the plants
• Watch the birds
• Decide if the lettuce is ready for picking
• And of course, enjoy a nice cup of tea in the fresh air

At Alder House Care Home, we keep our standards high. The best china is put out for special occasions, and the chef and team don’t disappoint with what is served upon it. The same is true for all mealtimes in fact, as the food is freshly prepared each day on the premises and carefully considered for its nutritional content. A choice of menus is available, and all dietary requirements are catered for. We’re good at tempting poor appetites too.

Mealtimes are an important part of life at Alder House Care Home and are greatly anticipated by the residents. We never forget that, and you can often find chef chatting to residents about their likes and dislikes and discussing what could be improved. Mealtimes are when residents can all come together and socialise, perhaps with the aid of a glass of wine, which is optional with meals. Some of our residents even meet beforehand for an aperitif – in the garden if it’s nice out. Why don’t you come and join them? Guests are always encouraged and welcome!
