Of the many care homes in Wiltshire, we strive to be the best. We have established strong ties with local Wiltshire schools and associations who play a valuable role in ensuring residents remain part of the wider community. Students and nursery children come every week to read and play board games with the residents.
Activities are scheduled throughout the week by a team of dedicated Activity Co-ordinators who often arrange for entertainers and local charities to come in. Residents at Merlin Court are given the choice as to how much they would like to participate and, if there is something that particularly interests them, we will do our best to support it. Whether it’s music, crafting, dancing, walking or just trips to a local Marlborough pub, there isn’t much we don’t do! See for yourself:
Read moreWe have a dedicated dementia lounge where reminiscence sessions are popular, as are the singalongs and shared moments of reflection. We are no strangers to the internet and use it as memory resource, as well as for Skyping – which, along with our Facebook pages, are excellent means for keeping lines of communication open. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home and free for residents and guests alike. When not on our screens, engaged in activities inside or out in the garden, you’ll find us going out on trips to the lovely Wiltshire countryside in our minibus.
Our Marlborough care home chefs ensure that everyone receives the very best, nutritionally balanced meals, using fresh ingredients, locally sourced from Wiltshire suppliers where possible and following the seasons. Health considerations and dietary needs are always considered. We recognise that good hydration is an essential to well-being and encourage good hydration habits, but residents are free to enjoy an aperitif and a glass of wine or beer with their meals as well.
Dining is an important social event in the life of the home and is often eagerly anticipated, though it is always possible to eat in one’s own room if preferred, and we can always rustle up a quick snack when asked. At coffee and teatime, you’ll find residents enjoying the delicious homemade cakes and pastries that are baked fresh daily; healthy drinks and fresh fruit are available too. Birthdays and anniversaries are honoured with a special cake and we particularly welcome friends and family to join us. Come and see for yourself!
